CA1 Post 3 - A difficulty you faced
My schedule is usually packed and this week was no exception. Besides the
CCAs, tuition classes and after school activities, there was the never ending stream of homework and projects. I understand that it is our streaming year and this will affect our lives when we choose our O level combinations. However, there has been an overwhelming amount of work that we have to face. Mathematics, Literature and Design and Technology projects are just a few that I can think of. Sometimes I have trouble coping with all the work and fail to hand my assignments in on time. At the start of Secondary One when we had just entered the school, Mr Low, the principal, had announced that secondary school was a brand new start and our
PSLE scores did not matter as we had to start afresh. That rings true for me because I attained considerably good
PSLE scores but I was struggling in school because I had overestimated myself. Recently, however, the school has printed out cards for everyone stating the scores they should achieve but these goals were set through our
PSLE scores. I would like to point out that this mistake clearly opposes what Mr Low previously stated. Majority of secondary school students will unanimously agree that the subjects were much easier in primary school than in secondary school so the goals set for us are inaccurate. I suggest that the school allows students to adjust to the new year and when they are properly acclimated to the new standard their workload should increase.

CA1 POST 2 - A moment spent alone doing something you enjoyed
I feel that the complaints about students spending more time on books is out of perspective as that is just a minority. Even though most of my peers are not avid readers, I enjoy reading the odd book myself. I started reading since I was young and i have not put down a book since then. My favourties were Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton but as I matured, I started exploring genres that suited my age like books about teenage angst and philosophies. Most teenagers ask "What is the meaning of life?" and "How is my life going to turn out?" but alas, most of us have yet to find the answer. I believe that having a goal and planning ahead will get you to where you want but questions about life, death, love and meaning are left unanswered. The book I am currently reading is The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. The story may seem like the average fairytale on the surface but looking deeper into the plot will cause you to ponder about what we were put on earth for and what are we supposed to do. Who will you marry and how will you contribute to others? There are some elements that some people would not comprehend like things about destines, fate and omens. Although students have homework, CCAs and tuition packed into their schedule, I suggest that they pick up a good book to read. It takes you away from reality momentarily and transports you to another world.

CA1 POST 1 - Something that took place in school. On Monday the whole day was exceptionally boring except for an unexpected event that took place in class. I did not witness the whole event but I heard what took place from some eyewitnesses. It all started with an innocent conversation between Gabriel and
Afshin.
Afshin childishly provoked Gabriel which resulted them to fall on bad terms. Gabriel arrogantly dared Afshin to slap him and Afshin duly complied. Gabriel subsequently went berserk and sent punches and kicks into the air. Being scrawny and unfit, most of his blows did not land on Afshin but he caused innocent bystanders to be dragged into the crossfire. Kang Sheng, being the independent arbitrator of the fight, promptly subdued Gabriel to allow him to calm down and refrained him from causing more damage. At this juncture, I entered the classroom and saw a fuming Gabriel restrained by Kang Sheng. Afshin was standing a safe distance from Gabriel laughing at him with mirth which did not contribute to the unresolved conflict. After that, lessons resumed as per normal and the day carried on.

Free Topic
I'm reading a book by Paulo Coelho called The Alchemist and it's a story about a boy who became a shepherd to travel freely and discovered a treasure. It may sound like an ordinary fiction book but the point behind it is about philosophy and how to live your life meaningfully.
Everybody makes mistakes but they should not be afraid to share them. Your weakness may be someone else's strength. Soap opera's usually require no brain power to understand because it is always the same: the "bad guy" never wins. Hiding the evil you have done will become ghosts that haunt you and demons that terrorize you.

My feelings of creating a blog
Today we have created a blog for our English lesson. Before that we visited some professional blogs and identified their writing style and language. For example mr brown's blog was about his personal experiences. It was simple for me to create a blog because i have had prior experience of creating blogs.
Some of the classmates did not have any experience in creating a blog so i helped them in things that were more complicated like creating a tagboard and changing the blog skin.
